When Does Reflux Peak In Babies
Infants are more likely than adults to develop acid reflux because their LESs may be weak or underdeveloped. In fact, it’s estimated that about half of all babies experience some degree of this condition during the first month after birth! The peak period for most cases occurs around 4 months old and goes away by itself between 12-18 months — but not always without treatment .
Why Does Reflux Peak At 4 Months
You may have heard of reflux as the “acid reflex.” This is when a baby’s stomach acids come up through their mouth and nose while they’re eating or drinking, causing pain. It usually starts around week 2-3 in babies but can happen much earlier if you move them too fast from lying down to sitting upright after feeding; also make sure there isn’t any pressure on your child’s belly because this often causes it!
